Oh man, no need to apologize. I guess my English is not that good either
I like "harsh" commenting, I have a friend that is never satisfied completely with my work and i love comments from him because he only tries to make me do a better job.

I've read somewhere a perfect formula for shader creation
Step1 = Create a plane and a sphere
Step2 = Assign a shader to the sphere and build the shader
Step3 = Show it to 3 friends who are never satisfied and eventually your shader is going to look awesome
Its a joke but has some serious truth to it.
Anyway, my goal is to texture. What ever it takes to make textures look the best they can be on the model. Now is it a texture made from a photograph or is it painted by hand (imho the mix of both is the best) i don't really care. All i care is the final output.
So to sum up my goal is not to make a wood texture in photoshop from scratch and make it perfect, my goal is to texture a deformed box and render a great wood peace.
I am thinking of texturing the model you suggested for the challenge. That way i can practice texturing and we can have a scene for the challenge
