I made my demo reel a couple of months ago when i was looking to change jobs! Fortunately I was able to do so quickly. Never got around to post it anywhere. So here it is. Please let me know what you like and dislike and what kind of work would you like added to my reel. Gonna start on a new one soon.

the only thing i dislike was the quality of the earth.. the particles where awsome on the meteor, but the earth brings the whole shot down...
great work anyway! admins, can plug this? i think it realy deserves it.... -

Claymation 600 posts22 Sep 2008Yeah that's some great stuff! A few crits:
-Too many car shots. The zooms/camrea movement on the stills is unneccesary i think. Instead show each still once, but then add some wire frame renders.
- I would take out the cat shot with the circle of fire, the fire is nowhere near as good as the car, and detracts from it. Your other fire shots are MUCH better.
- I didn't mind the earh, i thought it was fine. My eye was drawn to the meteor.
- I would also take out the character shot. It doesn't fit with the rest of the reel and is the weakest piece because of the animation.
It's no wonder you were able to find work so fast, this is some quality stuff! -

Richard: Thanks dude! Well at first I wanted the earth to look a bit dull so that you focus more on the meteor, but later on I did wonder if its bringing down the quality.

Claymation: Thank you! There are too many car shots well because I was looking into getting in a place where i could get to work on cars. Since i enjoy them the most. Yeah for my next reel i'm definately doing some wires instead of camera movement. And I agree with you on the character shot aswell.

24 Sep 2008agreed with the plug comment. haha, you worked on those weird sheeple spots? those always baffled me as to why in terms of the original idea. your reel looks great, not much to say that hasn't already been said by rich or clay. that was an awful lot of cars

24 Sep 2008BColbourn: Thanks man. well yeah I knowa LOT of cars but the studio that I worked for did a LOT of cars, so I had to do them. I also kinda enjoyed it. we were responsible for toyota scion ad campaigns, I mean we did the 3d, we got the work from Attik. Also when i made my reel I had only started 3d for like ALMOST 2 years but not quite
Even at my new job i'm responsible for a big car company and i handle all the cars so theres a lot more cars to come
Yeah the sheeple campaign was crazy! the concept was already there. But it was a lot of fun to work on.
Anyways recently i got 4gb ram at home! and just turned to 64 bit so i'm psyched gonna make huge fires now hopefully -
