This was my group project for the month of September. We were instructed to use specific mocap data and design a character and a scene around it. my responsibilities included the scene concept, materials, cameras, lighting, and rendering.

Whoa, that's great! That's a pretty neat idea, having to design a scene around mocap data.
I would say by far the strongest part of the piece is the materials, lighting and rendering. So nice job!

Hey Ben! This is really neat...I agree that the lighting and materials is the strongest...you've made some huge improvements in your skills compared to the last scene of yours that I saw that you rendered/lit! Great work!

nice work man, the skin was a bit waxy/shiny without enough bump/grit, but that's a hard one to get no matter what. Great work though!!! well deserved plug!

exept for the "stiff" fingers this is really awesome and could connect to "matrioshka" (did i wrote it correct?!)
but for the fingers i know that mostly there is no capturing data(they dont capture it). so you probably werent really allowed to manipulate the data.

well the thing about the fingers is that we were allowed to tweak the mocap data and add our own, including fingers. the reason there is no finger movement is because our animator basically had one day to sit down, learn motionbuilder and turn out a clean animation from 5 mocap files.
