Villain & Prisoner Lipsync WIP

coyoteblk 3 posts27 Oct 2008Here is a two character lipsync that I'm currently working on. I've finished the 1st pass on the villain character and I'm still working on the first pass for the prisoner. I've also made sure to add a frame counter. Also, for some reason the last 13 frames got cut out during compression in After Effects, I don't know why, hopefully I can fix that the next time I render out of After Effects. I appreciate all feedback and all Crits & Comments are welcome, In fact, I encourage people to make as many critiques and comments on this as they want. I love constructive criticism!

Couple things I plan to do for the animation.
Pass 2: work on arcs and secondary motion.
Pass 3: Facial animation, Eye blinks, Eye animation, Lipsync.
Pass 4: Polish, misc tweaks, camera movement.
I'm also thinking about toning down the leg movement in the beginning for the prisoner. I also think I might need to lower the camera slightly so the hands and feet don't get cut off. Tell me what you think guys! -
27 Oct 2008Nice start! The main thing that stuck out to me was that the movement of the foreground guy was a little unimaginative. It doesn't need much to boost it really, maybe have him switch his focus from right arm to left (ie, half way through, switch which arm is raised and which is on his hip)....just kinda looks awkward having him stand there the whole time in essentially the same pose.

28 Oct 2008welcome to the forums! difficult to crit much this early on in the production of it but more movement in the guy in the foreground would definitely add to it. looks like he's standing there because he's posing for the camera, not because it makes sense.

rrateme95 262 posts29 Oct 2008Welcome to the forums dude as for the animation, I think maybe at the start it could have some movement with the prisoner showing as if hes angry or trying to get out and also like Tyson and Ben said about more movement forground but other than that its lookin good so far -

coyoteblk 3 posts28 Nov 2008First of all, I would like to say thanks to all the people who gave me feedback and critiques, I really appreciate it. I've taken everyone's comments and have tried to apply it to my animation as best as possible.

Unfortunately, I don't have a higher resolution version available online, sorry, hopefully youtube quality is good enough. As far as what I've changed I basically made the Villain(foreground guy) less stiff, and I have taken your advice Tyson(ivanisavich) and have switch the focus on the hands later on in the animation. As usual, all crits and comments are encouraged. Also, thanks to everyone for welcoming me to the forums. If all goes as planned, I should have the final version up on Monday. -

First, I would like to thank everybody for all their feedback and critiques, I greatly appreciate all the advice that you guys have given me. Also, their are two versions of the final render. One is more saturated, and one is more faded looking. Also again, I still welcome all constructive feedback about the animation. Both animations have High Quality viewing possible on their youtube pages, it's up to you whether or not to view it in high quality. There should be text in the lower right corner saying watch in High quality for those interested. Enjoy.

Overall, I would say I'm satisfied with the final outcome. Granted I still wanted to add more polish and to change up a couple poses, but time is up and this is what I've got. I'll just make sure to take what I've learned from this animation and apply it to my next piece.
