Postcard from Sumrakovac

11 May 2010We have a bit of a lightning challenge over at DizajnZona (domestic forum) and the theme is a postcard from a fictional town in Serbia called Sumrakovac (Sumrak = Twilight).
The story goes like this: Serbia became a nuclear force at the time no one in the world uses nuclear power (they use something wayyyy better) and something like Chernobil happened in the Twilight town. You get the picture...
The original scene is made by Stefan Morell (one of my favorite artists)
So here is my entry

12 May 2010very moody! love the atmosphere to it. one thing I noticed in the first pic was the sharpness of the shadows but its very nice to see that's been addressed in the final version.

I think for an overall critique I'd have to say my eye is bouncing around a bit much. There are a lot of hotspots in your image so my brain can't decide which one to focus on first so my eye bounces all around looking at different things.
Besides that though, kick ass! Serbia was super awesome btw. -
12 May 2010Thanks B. Yeah they were too harsh. I got a feedback from a friend about that and then i realized that.
Jay thanks man! I tried to make it so that when you look at the image you don't look at one thing for 5 seconds and than look away from the image. I tried to make a person search for things on the image. I guess i lost it a bit from all the adjustments and layers and stuff in photoshop. Ive heard that good image makes you look for stuff in circular manner. Thanks a lot for the critique!

16 May 2010i really like the mood of the first one but have to agree to some of the comments. Keep em coming.
the second one is better in "holding it together" and looks more "realistic" then the first one but its not as impressive in mood as the first one. -
