Here's a short Nike spec ad I finished up a couple of weeks ago.

I really like that Tyson, i especially liked the American Football and the Baseball bit, that was very well made, and quite fuuny. Well done man.
What do you use to blow stuff up with? You always seem to get great results.

Hey iest_rob....thanks man! As for "blowing stuff up"....it's just regular PArray particle systems using the fragmented geometry setting. -

01 Feb 2006how do you get renders like these (you 3 latest animation) is it some kind of material , or some kind of ligting, or do tou do it with avter efect...
how about a tut explaining us how to do it... or just a tip or somthing...

I wouldn't mind knowing a bit about the way you've set up lighting and materials for this kind of output. -
02 Feb 2006hehe....well in this animation there are no lights in any of the scene, and it wouldn't matter anyways because all of the materials are 100% self-luminant. That's how I got that cell look (ie, when the materials are 100% self-luminant, they can recieve no shadows and have no shading)...it's as simple as that!

02 Feb 2006Well, even if I used 10000 omnis and spot lights, or just the default lighting, a fully self-luminous material rendered with the scanline renderer won't be affected by any lights at all....it'll just render out flat and in the color of its diffuse map. No shadows, no specular, etc

02 Feb 2006I love it! I especially love the retro-sci-fi design, I'm a huge fan of it ^^ Very awesome Tyson! The only sort of crit that I have is the materials. I personally would have made them metallish, not cell shaded. But that's really personal and not a crit anyway

first, would it be possible to see a wire of the car please?
second, i lve this anime and i'm going to be very picky
2 error i found
- when the ball crashes into that building(the last one before the robots run of) just before the impact, you can see the expoading sphere unhiding just before it blows up for one frame if you know what i mean...
-when the baseball dude is just about to throw the ball, when he brings these leg up, it goes through his body
anyway, these are minor detail, the animation is brilliant... -

02 Feb 2006 Nice one Tyson - I bet the full on character anim makes a nice change, this has come out really well. Something very interesting when watching this anim was that I could tell it was yours... I think it was the movement at the end as they run out of shot - something about it had the Tyson stamp (which is pretty cool if you ask me! )
Anyhoo - no crits from me, the only issue I have is that the poor guy driving the truck has no chance to get out! hehe -
