I like it
Here are some comments,
Good things:
-The model is great. Can't see anything wrong with it
-You've got the color of the bottle spot on
Things to work on:
-The reflections on the bottle are a little bit too stretched for my liking
-The logo (although you've got a good aluminum shader going on)...is a little dark and hard to read. As a render, it's fine...but as an advertisement...it takes a little too much effort to read it. Maybe brighten it up a tad

19 Jul 2005Dude the only thing wrong with the label is the white ain't white but silver, and for the reflection well the bottle reflects what it sees, but don't worry this is just the first test, like I said first phase, there's lots of stuff to do on it but I'm really close.
But I have to give it a pause for a while trying to do another animation first. -

Ok this is the breaking part of my bottle, yes the bottle seems to change color when it break, it's normal the liquid part ain't there yet but there when the bottle ain't broken. The bottle doesn't explode cause I want the liquid to interact with the peices. -

21 Jul 2005That's really nice bud, a really great effect. I can't wait to see it with the liquid - a real challenge I bet!
I like the way the top explodes off, though it does seem to be like a seperate explosion to the main shattering (which looks like it's located at the bottom of the glass. As you say, it'll look different once you add the beer, but I do think the larger shards could spread a touch more (and maybe be a little sharper too if you can)

Cool! I like it....my only comment is that you need to ramp up the gravity in the simulation A LOT
Right now the glass shards and lid fall like they're as big as skyscrapers (ie...the low gravity makes the scale of the bottle seem HUGE)...the shards should honestly hit the ground in only around 20-30 frames...whereas now they hang in the air for much longer.
I think the default gravity value in reactor is something like "380"....but it should be at around 800-900 to get the right results (even though reactor will still tell you that the "gravity is too high" hehe, when you change the setting to that value) -
22 Jul 2005i hate when reactor gives me all that crap about the mass being too klight etc. i just yell at it and tell it no! bad monkey! i need to figure out what i'm gonna do for my glu3d challenge contest thing.

Ridestow, the peices were done with a Parray so I don't have much control over them, I can only decide the number and I arlready have over 80
By the way Glu3d is awesome, I tried realflow before but Glu3d is way easier to use, hope I'll win (note to self if you want to win redo anything T tells you to) I need this plug-in for work and I don't have the money to buy it. -

Agree with whats been said about the simulation. The cap seems to pop off, instead of being thrown by the explosion.
Can't wait to see the fluids. -
26 Jul 2005here's a small glu3d animation i dug out of like 12 folders today. it was just an intro logo for a webite i was hired to work on. mind you, this was when glu3d was still in beta.

Ar Lutik grate animation execpt the cap maybe you should animate that by hand... Just throw it straight up wich allways happens IF its a explosion.
did you use the same method wich Ivanisavich covert in on of his GRATE tutorials...
if so how are you going to have EXPLODING liquid? because if you put the liquid in the bottle it will still be there if you make it UNrendreble (or so i think?)...
ill test it on my exploting Teapot..(Ivanisavich, thanks!)
Anyways it?s grate to be among (as Ar Lutik sayd) "Future PROS"...

31 Jul 2005Ell the thing with my cap, is I want it that way, I'm not going for realism, the cap is my signature, I wanted to sign this animation like we sign a painting so I use the cap so I'll my reactor was base on where the cap landed the rest i really didn't care, it always depends on what you're trying to achieve

So you use Reactor to Fracture the bottle and not Pflow...

31 Jul 2005What I did is I use a Parray to first break my bottle then use reactor as is to get the bottle to crumble a bit like a building (you will understand when I put the camera shake)

Well my foam doesn't work the uvmap of glu seems to look like a projection or something, and on top of that GLU since I put a procedural texture with my liquid wouhouhou shutdown machine after rendering 3 frames, and have a contract to do so i think I'll leave it to this and if I can squeeze a render make one with less camera shake, but that's a big if since the demo should deactivate itself in a day or two and I have frames that take for ever (to much refraction going on in there ) -

Here guys a little update on my bottle, it's the first animation in the gallery of glu3d, there's a tutorial of the Glu3d part in the tutorial section of 3daliens
And it just got me a contract by been there. -

25 Oct 2005Bardur i didn't win, cause they forgot this animation in the contest, but I still got a licence
Adam, glu is not free there is a demo, the legal version is 500 euro
The best about this animation is that they put it first in there gallery and someone saw it and hired me for some special effects on a tv series on ghost a bit like unsolve mysteries.
I will have one of the animation I did soon on my site. -
