Hey everybody, This weekend I put together a full character and rig. I'd really appreciate it if you gave it a "test drive" if you will, and give me some feedback on the rigging, etc. . .

-Movement will orient Eyes towards the spline
*If you unhide the "Rigging" layer, you have access to the individual eye orientations, with the individual eye points to either side of the eye controler.

- Left Dialate
- Right Dialate

- Mouth Controls (the Body Mesh)
* The following are on the "Morpher Modifier" on the body mesh
- Left Blinking

I Found That The Mouth Control Didn't work Tho .. or is that yet to be implemented?

And I Have Found Out How To Use The Mouth And Things... Read The Readme lol

hi,
just had a very quick look and some of the things that stood out for me where ->
you might want to implement some sort of inverse foot or ik foot so that the foot doesnt rotate when you move the hips, as it is you would have to counter animate for any hip movements if you want a planted foot

also i dont think having the elbow rotatation linked to the hand rotation is a good idea, they should be completely independent,
mouth doesnt work for me also

having non zero values for the custom attributes at rest pose is not a good idea if there is no reset button -

twsiting the back doesnt work for the teeth
squash and stretch on the back doesnt work for eyes or teeth (also it doesnt squash it only scales)

just a quick look so there may be more!!!!

Hey Thanks everyone, As for the mouth controls, If you select the base mesh of the body, and go down to the "morpher" modifier on it, you'll be able to control the facial expressions.

Thanks for all the pointers Marktsang, i really appreciate them. As for the "non zero" values for the Controlers, i don't really know how to do that. I understand Reaction manager may help, do you have any resources that may be usefull?

Many Of The Things Marktsang Said Can Be Avoided By Using The Morphers

here are more tests with objects, absoloutly love this guy

nothing i mentioned can be dealt with effectivly with morphers - im not sure what you are thinking, can you elaboraate as to how you think morphers would solve any of the things i listed?

with regards using zeroed values one custom attributes - you need to use list controllers or float lists so that the controller that is wired starts at zero - you may also want to look at the tutorial on my site you may find some useful information in it

This looks like a fun character - I'd like to have a look but I'm having some probs with the PC I use for Max Interesting discussion about the hands and feet thing. I often put in various orient constraints for things like hands and heads etc. so that the animator can decide to have the hand rotate with the arm, head, hips etc - or not at all.

hey aaron played with the rig a little. Its not to bad i cant think of anything else that hasnt been brought up on here so far.
you did a good job taking jon's drawing and bringing it into 3d.
keep up the good work man.

I've had requestes to control it using a GUI, and also people say they liked the Controlers built into the dummys. Could i get your opinions feedback on this? thanks.
