Well, as some of you may know, Firefox is currently holding a contest wherein entrants must create a 30 second spot advertising the Firefox web browser.
And without further ado.....here is the entry I created here at Make!
Please vote for us on the site if you like it! The results will be posted on April 25th so hopefully we'll do well
Also, credit goes to Zach Mandt for environment modelling, and Danny Robashkin for compositing.

Beautiful work from Tyson and the crew! It's been a constantly amazing pace of learning since I logged onto to your site Tyson, and now the forums. I can't get over the importance of solid camera work; between your pieces and something like BuckLA's opening, even the power of adding subtle camera shake is eye-opening.
I think it would be great to see some discussion on how you approach camera movement, both in your thought process and how you achieve it, as it seems to be one of the areas you have a mastery over.
As everybody else is saying, this should be on TV!

Haha looks like its a bit too good for some of your competitors.

Oh well, to hell with them, great work, really outstanding.
I don't really know much about advertising and marketing junk but the visuals are top notch and would make me stop and watch the add. Best of luck with the competition.

Amazing. You are totally gonna win!
Even your audio is incredible. I wanna know about the process! How did you record the dialogue? And was that a made-up language??
Great job Tyson.

hmmm... i checked out the winners, and then read alot of those posts people made in response. alot of those people made good points, especially whoever it was that pointed out the actual rule saying "no copyrighted logos". "Wheee!" should've been disqualified immediately. it wasn't that funny or clever even if copyrighted material had been allowed.
i liked the general idea of the fox costume in that other one, and fighting off internet annoyances, but the narrarator and editing style was a definite rip-off of those orbit ads, like someone said.
whatever. who am i to judge, i didn't enter.

just my thoughts. i only watched maybe a total of about 10-12 of them, but from the ones i saw, t, yours was CLEARLY far beyond any others.
congrats on honorable mention, regardless.

BColbourn 2,323 posts
shame on them, i liked the daredevil one but yours tyson was the one that best portrayed the ideaology and fun-loving spirit of firefox the most. oh, and "whee" is f**king retarded not to mention the previous comment of copyright-infringement.

hey tyson,
just a FYI, your firefox video is kicking around here at R&H. people think its pretty amazing, and some people were already familiar with your work, mentioning specifically the sony transforming video. common words associated with you here are "amazing" and "astounding".
