7thTheory 24 posts30 Oct 2005This was one of my 1st major work using Photoshop. of a girl i know and see asked if i could paint her using a picture a reference.
All in all it took me about 11 hours on/off over a week or 2.
very proud of myself as i did small art using photoshop before i attemped this.
comments are always appreciated.

31 Oct 2005It's pretty nice... though I do have just a couple of crits. I think the main one for me is that it seems like there is a conflict of 'style' in the image. Basically what I mean is that in some ways it looks to be a vector image (as there are some really hard edges going on) but in other parts it is too soft and 'airbrushed'.
Second one is that it is just too close a representation of the photo that it really has a 'traced' look to it. Whether it is or isn't is not important - just that it lacks a little 'expression' to the image.
Third one, just a little tweak needed around her left eye (the pupil looks a little too small and out of line there) -

g3org3 355 posts31 Oct 2005Good start. One thing I think you need is more contrast. If you are leaning towards realism look closer at the glossiness of her skin and pearls. THe hands could use a lot of work. THe dress is probaly the best part of it in my opinion. The dress strap on the right needs more detail, it looks just like a black rectangle.
Keep up the good work and it could still some use some more work. Can't wait to see more of it.
