Hi all,
I'm going to be shooting a music video for a cool new band soon and I've been doing a bit of preparation for it using AE.
I really like those expensive looking light walls you see in R&B videos - P Diddy did a video recently that had one. Anyway they look pretty badass, but being as the band won their video in a competition we ran, we're bankrolling it ourselves, so no chance of hiring anything quite like it for real. The only option will be to do it virtually. We'll be shooting the singer on a bluescreen stage then I'll be comping her into a variety of spangly backgrounds. Fortunately this is only part of the video - the rest will be practical in real locations!
Check out this test I did using the rather static but lovely Avril Levigne as a standin. I think it's pretty cool - you can put any video or graphics onto the screen and it's set up with R,G,B pixels offset for that extra touch of realism! I'd love to hear your thoughts/crits/etc., especially on how I could get the bright bits to flare really nicely.
